Steve Prebble - President Appriss Retail


Steve Prebble

Steve Prebble serves as the President of Appriss Retail and is responsible for all aspects its operations, joining the business in the summer of 2019.

Prior to Appriss Retail, Steve led several marketing service provider companies, including directing the growth of SaaS engagements for EYC and Aztec (acquired by IRi), and more recently driving significant growth of the digital load-to-card promotions ecosystem at Catalina for 100+ US retailers and CPG brands, serving offers to over 50 million shoppers nationally.

Earlier, Steve held senior roles with global food retail businesses across store operations, merchandising and marketing for leading retailers including Sainsburys, Shaw’s Supermarkets, Albertsons, and Tesco Lotus (Thailand). Steve has led the design and launch of two retail loyalty marketing programs and the creation of CRM engagement programs and the supporting insights and analytics infrastructures.

Steve earned his MBA from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland.


Corey Adams

Corey Adams is the vice president of Client Services at Appriss Retail where, since 2011, he has helped 100+ retailers around the world maximize their success with the installation, development, and usage of analytics tools and programs. Corey manages a team of consultants working in the US and abroad.

Prior to joining Appriss Retail, Corey worked as a professional services consultant with Tyco International, assisting retailers as they established and developed their analytics programs. He has more than 25 years of experience in retail and loss prevention – ranging from a Global 50 retailer to small specialty chains – in both field and corporate positions, as well as law enforcement. Corey has a BA in Sociology and Criminal Justice.

Senior Vice President, integration solutions

Philip Biggs

Philip Biggs manages complex, real-time integration (RTI) projects for leading retailers around the world including several from the Global 50. He has had experience delivering integration solutions to global organizations and has contributed to several loss prevention and line-of-business solutions for major retailers.

In the years before he founded Sysrepublic, which is now part of Appriss Retail, Philip worked at Marks & Spencer as a key member of the Integration Services team and the Customer Insight Unit. Before that, he worked for several major hospitality companies including Compass, Roux Brothers, Marriott Hotels and Holiday Inn. He also served in the British Army. Philip graduated with honors from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in Business Studies.

Vice President, operations and development

Geoff Lyle

Geoff Lyle is the vice president of Operations and Development for Appriss Retail. Geoff has over twenty years of experience delivering successful technology driven solutions for retail clients. He manages the professional services, program management, and development teams responsible for the delivery of Appriss Retail solutions internationally.

Prior to joining Appriss Retail, Geoff developed his retail and consulting experience as a management consultant with IBM Business Consulting Services and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Geoff is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Public Policy.

Vice PResident, Marketing

Tom Rittman

Tom Rittman is the vice president of Marketing for Appriss Retail. In this role, he is responsible for the organization’s branding, demand generation, marketing research and communications, as well as product marketing and business development.

Prior to joining Appriss Retail, Tom served as the vice president of marketing for Datavantage, a retail technology company that is now part of Oracle, where he was responsible for the organization’s marketing strategy, development, and execution. Prior to that, he held various marketing leadership positions with TMW Systems and Roadway Express.

Tom serves on the NRF Associate Member Council, and holds his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Akron.

Senior Vice President, ProductS

Nathan Smith

As senior vice president of Products, Nathan Smith is responsible for delivering and supporting products for Appriss Retail’s clients.

Nathan launched his career on the retail side of the business, starting at Safeway in the UK. He worked for several high-profile retailers such as Marks & Spencer and Tesco, performing roles as diverse as cashier, store manager, and enterprise software architect. This broad range of retail experience and knowledge enables Nathan to have great insight into the challenges facing retailers today. He went on to co-found Sysrepublic (now part of Appriss Retail).

Nathan has a degree in Information Technology for Business and over the last decade has presented at major retail events and trade shows around the globe highlighting how technology can be used more effectively to deliver value for retail businesses.

chief data scientist

David B. Speights, PhD

Dr. David Speights is the chief data scientist for Appriss. He has more than 25 years of experience developing and deploying analytical solutions for some of the world’s largest companies. Throughout his career, he has managed massive amounts of data using big data tools. He is responsible for analytical modeling and managing POS data from retailers around the globe for Appriss Retail as well as overseeing the development of analytical models for other Appriss business units. In 2017 he co-authored a book about retail analytics.

Before joining the company in 2000, David was first vice president of Mortgage Credit Risk Modeling at Washington Mutual and chief statistician at HNC Software. He consults on projects within a number of industries. Speights holds a PhD in Biostatistics from the UCLA and has several patents.


Senior Vice President, Sales

Bob Walters

Bob Walters is the senior vice president of Sales for Appriss Retail. In this position he is responsible for managing the global sales team.

Prior to joining the company, he served as the vice president of Sales for IntelliVid. Before that, he was the executive vice president of Sales and Marketing for Datavantage, a software development/service company that is now part of Oracle. Bob also held executive positions with both Callos Technology Partners and Entre Consulting.

Bob holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Youngstown State University.

Senior Vice President, OPERATIONS

David West

David West, heads up the infrastructure team that ensures clients can operate Appriss Retail services from anywhere in the world.

As a former co-founder of Sysrepublic, which is now part of Appriss Retail, David has worked with a wide variety of retailers, hospitality and entertainment companies including many in the Global 50 and other well-known retail brands. Previously, David was a consultant within the award-winning Integration Services team at Marks and Spencer, and before that was a retail technology consultant at Dimenica Ltd. where he focused on Microsoft technologies

David started his career  at POST Software International (PSI), the pioneers behind PC technology in retail and the ARTS data model. There, David’s roles spanned product development, design, and architecture.
